We received our Victorian Top Bird Cage quickly and in great condition.
We had it assembled and our macaw inside in a couple of hours.
It is absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way. We had some doubt
about the locks and the food dishes before the cage was assembled, but
it is obvious the designers understand parrots. It is the first cage
we've ever had that has locks that can't be opened by a parrot! The
stainless food dishes are great -- large, fairly shallow and secure.
Our macaw gave up trying to get them loose very quickly.
The best part of the cage, however, is that it has completely changed
our 21-year-old blue and gold macaw, Zydeco. We have a "new" parrot.
He was the terror of our house, throwing screaming fits, picking up food
out of his dishes and throwing it across the room, and shredding paper.
The latter is not possible, of course, because of the grate at the
bottom of the new cage, a feature that his old cage didn't have. His
"nesting" days are over. The shallowness of the dishes, the large metal
plate behind each dish, and the metal skirt around the bottom of the
cage make it pretty hard for him to successfully throw food. Our floor
clean up is so much easier now.
Zydeco has calmed down so much that we can only attribute it to the new
cage. It is obvious that he absolutely loves it. We wish we'd bought
it years ago! I bet he does, too.
